Up on a Log

Out of a desire to work with more patterns and values in the background this image came about.  It reminds me of walks in my Gramma Woodward’s woods in Northwest Ohio, where we would trek looking for morels.  The spongey forest floor covered in a thick layer of decomposing leaves, twigs, and rotting logs swelling with moisture, felt like a different world beneath my small feet.
